Contrary to media publications circulating on the social media accusing the Lagos State Police command of complicity in an ongoing police investigation involving one Blessing Taiwo accused of stealing $50, 000 from Ojo Osagie Abiola, the command has reassured members of the public that proper investigation would be carried out on the matter.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, in a statement in Lagos on Sunday explained that the case in question which involved one Blessing Taiwo who was being investigated by the police for a case where she was accused of stealing $50,000 from one Ojo Osagie Abiola was transferred from Panti to anti-kidnapping section.
Famous-Cole further disclosed the Investigating Police Officer (IPO), Sergeant Kudeinbu Sheu who was now being alleged of complicity in the case had been arrested and was currently being interrogated by the X Squad of the command for his involvement in the case.
He however noted that the command would like to encourage the suspect, Blessing Taiwo to come forward with relevant information to aid the police in the on going investigation.
“The attention of the Lagos State Police command has been drawn to the media publication making the rounds on social media about an ongoing police investigation alleging the command of corrupt practice amongst its officers.
“The case which involves one Blessing Taiwo who is being investigated by the police for a case where she is accused of stealing $50,000 from one Ojo Osagie Abiola was transferred from Panti to anti-kidnapping section.
“The police IPO, Sgt. Kudeinbu Sheu who is now being alleged has been arrested and is currently interrogated by the X squad of the command for his involvement in the case.
“The command wants to reassure members of public that proper investigation would be carried out and the command would like to encourage the suspect Blessing Taiwo to come forward with relevant information to aid the police in the on going investigation”, Famous-Cole said.
