The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has said that it generated the sum of N299.56 billion in the 2017 fiscal year. A statement issued in Lagos by the General Manager Corporate and Strategic Communication of NPA, Abdullahi Goje said that the 2017 figure exceeded the 2016 revenue of N162.20 billion by 84.65% thereby becoming the highest revenue generated by the authority in the last five years. Justice Saliu Saidu of the Federal High Court yesterday in Lagos ordered the final forfeiture of the sums of £578,080 found by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in the account of a maritime firm, ZAL Marine Limited, domiciled in Diamond Bank. The said amount was allegedly stolen by some staff of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
