The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has stated that debts owed it by some operators in the maritime industry from 2004 till date amount to about 420.5 million US dollars. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operations Unit Zone A, Ikeja Lagos on Tuesday arraigned two suspected smugglers; Mr. Oyedeji Rashidi and Mr. Shuaib Sheyi before Chief Magistrate Y.A. Aje-Afunwa of the Magistrate Court, Ikeja, Lagos State on nine (9) counts charge of smuggling prohibited items. Seventeen (17) Junior Officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have been dismissed from the Service for offences ranging from drug addiction, certificate forgery, theft and absence from duty from January to September 2016.
