The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) today held elections in five out of the seven chapters that make the Western Zone of the association at the Villa Park Hotels, Festac Town Lagos. The anti-smuggling drive of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone A, Ikeja received a major boost recently following the seizure of smuggled frozen poultry products, neatly concealed in a specially built compartment of an iron body ten tyres truck. The Unit also seized eighty-two (82) jumbo bales of used and new bags. The wife of the governor of Anambra state, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano has expressed deep emotions over the gruesome death of the ten Nanka accident victims. The governor’s wife stated this recently while addressing mourners shortly after the burial Mass for nine of the ten victims at St. Gregory De Great Catholic Parish Enugwu Nanka. Even as the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) and the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) continued to fight over the sharing formula of the Practitioners Operating Fee (POF), the Nigerian Shippers’ Council has banned professional fees collection by all associations at the ports.
