Dr. Alex Okwuashi has said that the institution as an academic institution accredited by the relevant bodies in the Federal Ministry of  Education did not require any accreditation from the Nigerian maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) to run its programme. The Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO) has absolved its members of complicity in the gridlock currently being witnessed on all the access roads to the seaports in Lagos State.
