The Nigeria LNG Limited has said that it has received a total of 124 (one hundred and twenty-four) entries for the 2014 edition of the Nigeria Prize for Literature which is considered to be the flagship Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative. Following the repeated cases of boats mishaps accross the nation, commuters at the various ferry stations in Lagos have called on the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) to come up with watertight safety measures that will restore passengers’ confidence in water transport as a means of transportation. As part of his tour of the facilities of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), President Goodluck Jonathan will on Saturday, May 10 flag-off Nigeria’s first specialised university for the maritime sector. The Apapa Area one Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has said that the teething problem associated with the Pre Arrival Assessment Report (PAAR) was gradually coming to an end even as it disclosed that a total of 28,861,000 (twenty-eight thousand, eight hundred and sixty-one PAARs has been released in the month of April . The Western Marine Command (WMC) of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has said that it impounded goods worth N13.3 million between January and April 2014. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Okpara, who was speaking to journalists in Lagos on Tuesday stated that the amount was however against the N16 million worth of goods it seized in the first quarter of last year.
