The Igbo Christian Traders and Gospel Ministers Association of Lagos on Wednesday called on President Goodluck Jonathan to end speculations by declaring his intention to seek re-election in 2015.

Addressing Newsmen in Lagos, the Chairman of the association, Evangelist Emmanuel Ezeanui said that his members would embark on an indefinite fast across the Federation if the President failed to declare his intention in the shortest possible time.

According to him, “We shall also call for a match to Ask Rock from all over the federation to compel the President to run”.

He explained that the association was a non partisan organization whose aim of endorsing the President was to ensure continuity and sustenance of the achievements of the present administration in the last five years.

“We know that the President have the right to reject the PDP’s endorsement of his candidature, we are no longer comfortable with his silence. Jonathan deserves to remain in office to perfect the transformational foundation he laid. Our call and support for Mr. President is consequent upon his achievement since assuming office” he said.

He maintained that the astute policies made and taken by the Jonathan’s administration to reposition Nigeria should not be allowed to waste thus calling on Nigerians to rally round the President to ensure that he emerges as President come 2015.

It will be recalled that calls for the President to officially declare his intent to run had continued to trail his adoption by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last month as its sole candidate.
