Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, has called to congratulate President-elect, General  Muhammadu Buhari for his electoral victory at the polls and President Goodluck Jonathan for his statesmanship in conceding defeat.

He however condemned what he called “acts of brigandage and lawlessness displayed by People’s Democracy (PDP) stalwarts during the election.

Obiano said that he called President Jonathan on Wednesday to commend him for “displaying the qualities of a good statesman and the sacrificial depth of a great statesman”.

According to him, “Jonathan’s humble acceptance of the results of the Presidential Elections is a watershed in our country’s search for peace, unity and brotherhood and that with this singular act, President Jonathan has earned the respect of many Nigerians irrespective of political ideologies”.

Obiano also said he called the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari to congratulate him for his victory and assured him of the support and goodwill of Ndi Anambra on the onerous task of nation-building.

According to him, he will be “paying him a visit very soon to formally present the expectations of Ndigbo in the new political dispensation”.

In a statewide broadcast, Obiano also thanked Anambra people for their support and assured them that the dubious victory of the PDP in the Senatorial and House of Representatives Elections of last Saturday shall not stand.

According to him, APGA has assembled all necessary documentary and material evidence that will show that the election was rigged and retrieve the mandate that were given all APGA candidates from the law courts.

He said that he has been assured that the brigandage perpetrated in the March 28 election will not repeat on April 11 and urged them to once again come out en-masse to cast their votes for all the 30 APGA candidates for the House of Assembly election.

All Progressives Congress Anambra State chapter has also “heartily congratulates the President-elect, Gen Muhammadu Buhari on his resounding victory in the presidential elections, in spite of massive irregularities perpetrated by soldiers, policemen and other antidemocratic forces in the South East of Nigeria”.

In a statement issued the state publicity secretary of the party, Madukaife Okelo, the party restated that the Presidential and National Assembly Elections in Anambra State should be cancelled to allow the people of Anambra State conduct a clean election to vote in their representatives in the National Assembly using Card Readers like other states and carrying out collation at all levels.

Also, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Nnewi North/Nnewi South and Ekwusigo federal constituency in the just concluded National Assembly election, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (jnr) has described as an act of daylight electoral robbery for the PDP to have claimed victory in the poll with 44,747 aloted to its candidate, Hon Chris Emeka Azubogu and 30,994 aloted to him to the second position as “purportedly announced” by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC
