Regularize your accreditation with CRFFN, Kanikwu tells NCMDLCA, others

As the controversy over the collection of the Practitioners’ Operating Fees rages on, the Secretary, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) Tincan Island Chapter, Evang. David Kanikwu has challenged the three out of the five freight forwarding associations to complete their accreditation process with the Council for the regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).

Kanikwu who threw this challenge while speaking in an interview with Primetime Reporters in Lagos gave the names of the association to include; the National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents (NCMDLCA), the National Association of Air Freight Forwarders and Consolidators (NAFFAC) and the Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (AREFFN).

He disclosed that the three associations were given provisional accreditation by the CRFFN owing to the fact that they had not met the requirement for full accreditation by the Council adding that they don’t have the strength as well as the geographical spread.

According to him,” My brother, what is provisional accreditation? That means it has to be revisited to be sure that you meet the criteria. All these people that NAGAFF (National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders) is parading about, the so-called Presidents like Ukor, like Agubamah and Ejiofor of their various associations as they claimed, they were given provisional accreditations because they don’t have the strength, they don’t have geographical spread”.

“Before they could come on table with others, they should go and complete their accreditations properly, having national spread and offices all over. They don’t even have a conventional office. Go and read the Act on what qualifies somebody to be accredited. Because of this, they don’t want election into the board to take place because if it takes place, they will revisit these things and most of them will not be accredited. Listen, it is just money they are after”.

He continued,” Now, the CRFFN has not properly registered, why did it (CRFFN) come on board? To stem this proliferation of associations, but they (CRFFN) are encouraging it. I can wake up and register Kanikwu David Maritime, I become a President, and this speaks of what they do”.
