The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has warned the general public to disregard a recent publication in the social media entitled,” 2014/2015 NIMASA scholarship form finally out” with contact numbers as 08052873989, 07064847811 saying that such advert never emanated from the agency.

In a press release issued on Monday by the Deputy Director/Head Public Relations NIMASA, Hajia Lami Tumaka and obtained by Primetime Reporters, the agency stated that it had been inundated with calls by well meaning Nigerians so as to ascertain the authenticity of such advert thus prompting it to state that the information was not from NIMASA.

It therefore advised the members of the public to disregard such information concerning any scholarship by NIMASA which it said was clearly the handiwork of scammers.

The agency further directed that authentic information about its activities could only be obtained on the NIMASA website at www.nimasa.gov.ng, on twitter @nimasaofficial, or on its facebook page at www.facebook.com/NIMASAOFFICIAL.

The release reads,”The attention of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has been drawn to recent publications in the social media entitled“2014/2015 NIMASA scholarship form finally out”with contact numbers as 08052873989, 07064847811.

The Agency has also been inundated with calls by well-meaning Nigerians on their authenticity.

It has therefore become imperative to state that this information is NOT from NIMASA.

Members of the public are therefore advised to disregard such information concerning any scholarship by NIMASA, which is clearly the handiwork of scammers.

Indeed authentic information about the Agency and its activities can always be obtained on the NIMASA website at www.nimasa.gov.ng, on twitter @nimasaofficial or visit and “like” its facebook page at www.facebook.com/NIMASAOFFICIAL”.
