Dr. Dakuku Adolphus Peterside has assumed duty as the Director General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

This was contained in a press release issued by the Deputy Director/ Head Public Relations NIMASA, Hajia Lami Tumaka on Tuesday in Lagos.

Tumaka disclosed that the new DG who arrived the NIMASA Head Office on 4 Burma Road Apapa on Tuesday March 15, 2016, immediately went into a closed door meeting with members of Senior Management of the Agency.

According to her, “Dr. Peterside who observed that he is aware that there are competent hands in the Agency also solicited the cooperation of the staff to reposition the Agency for greater productivity.

“While noting that he is in NIMASA to serve the nation and humanity, the DG expressed his readiness to partner all stakeholders with a view to positively impacting the maritime sector and the Nigerian economy at large”.

It will be recalled that the Federal Government had on Thursday last week appointed Dr. Dakuku Peterside as the Director General of NIMASA for a four year term.
