Wife of the governor of Anambra State, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano has charged Anambra ‎Women to “Be Bold for Positive Change,” by being in the vanguard of the innovative reforms taking place under the administration of her husband, Governor Willie Obiano.

Mrs. Obiano made the clarion call to Anambra women in reference to the theme of 2017 International Women’s Day, ‘#Be Bold for Change,’ at Orumba during her ongoing tour of communities in Anambra State.

Her words: “The theme of 2017 International Women Day is ‘#Be Bold for Change’ by working for a more inclusive world and a gender inclusive world. But I urge you all to be bold for positive change in your family; be bold for positive change by contributing to the innovative reforms taking place under Governor Obiano in Anambra and be bold for positive change for a new Anambra.‎”

The wife of the governor stated that the United Nation’s call for a more gender inclusive society was timely and requires that women, men and the youths were free and able to contribute their quota in the development of the family, community and the state.

She observed that the place of the women in the scheme of things in Anambra was assured because the state ranked among the most gender-sensitive in the country judging by the pride of place the women had in the Gov. Obiano’s administration with many women occupying prominent positions in the current government.

Mrs. Obiano advised the women to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the government by forming and participating in women cooperative societies to access micro credit loans, and being part of the free skills acquisition training by her NGO, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE) and be financially empowered.
