Healthy lifestyle a panacea for improved productivity- Usman, NPA MD

In her desire at sensitizing the officers and staff of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) towards improved productivity at all times, the Managing Director, Hadiza Bala Usman has urged the workforce to consistently engage in various forms of exercise during their leisure as well consuming food items that boosts immunity and increases healthy living and sound mind in the work place.

Usman made this statement during the official launch and flag off of the 2017 Work and Wellness Programme organized by the Health, Safety and Environment Division of the organization under the theme, “Eat Right and Keep Fit for Enhanced Productivity”, held at the Court Yard within Corporate Headquarters, Marina, Lagos.

Earlier, the Executive Director Marine and Operations, Dr. Sekonte Davies informed the gathering that Management did not hesitate at approving the programme in view of the benefit accruable to the workforce by way of improved productivity.

He urged all to take maximum advantage of this programme towards a sustainable healthy life style.

The General Manager, Health, Safety and Environment, Mohammed Yusuf while welcoming Usman and the top Management of the NPA to the event reiterated that the programme, “is intended to remind all and sundry the importance of good nutrition, physical exercise and other healthy habits for health and well-being which results in consequent productivity”.

He enthused that the Division would continue to effectively perform its primary duty of guiding officers and staff towards a healthy life style in order to enhanced productivity.

According to him, Management would prioritize this event especially as it concerned regular monitoring of individuals blood pressure and wellbeing.

At this epoch making programme were the Executive Directors Marine and Operation, Dr. Sekonte Davies, Finance and Administration, Mohammed Bello-Koko and Engineering and Technical Services, Prof. Idris Abubakar, all General Managers and other top echelon of the organization.

Hadiza Bala Usman declared the programme open and later undertook a tour of the exhibition Centre.
