…Says Nigeria on the brink of anarchy
A former officer of the Nigerian Army, Captain Casmir Nwafor (rtd.) has finally declared to contest for the Orumba North/South Federal Constituency of Anambra State under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
It will be recalled that Casmir Nwafor is a founding member of the United Progressives Grand Alliance which later metamorphosed into the All Progressives Grand Alliance in 2002 serving the party then as Assistant State Organizing Secretary and Assistant State Youth leaders in the formative days of APGA.
Nwafor also was the first candidate of APGA to contest for the Orumba North State Constituency, in the Anambra State House of Assembly which he won fair and clear but was snatched away from him by the agents of the People Democratic Party (PDP) just as they snatched the mandate of Mr. Peter Obi during the period.
Subsequently, he joined the Nigerian Army where he rose to become a Captain and later resigned voluntarily on the 26th of April, 2018 having served the Army and Nigerian nation for nearly eleven years.
He seeks to represent the good people of Orumba North/South Federal Constituency in the 2019 general election which he said he intend to pursue through the party he labored most to set up, the structure which is still standing today.
In a message he sent our correspondent, Nwafor declared that, “At the end of consultation and political analysis, by the special grace of God, I will be the flag bearer of APGA in the Orumba North and South Federal House of Representatives seat election. To the glory of God, your prayers and support will be highly appreciated. I am Nwachinemelu”.
Meanwhile, Captain Casmir Nwafor has said that Nigeria as a country is on the brink of anarchy warning that the present government of President Muhammadu Buhari by its words, actions and body language was gradually but effectively destroying whatever was left of the unity and harmonious living by the different nations in Nigeria.
Nwafor who made this know shortly after declaring his intention to contest for the Orumba North/South Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 2019 general elections added that the present government left no one in doubt of this plan from its inception in 2015 with its 5% statement.
“A government that went ahead to appoint virtually all heads of military, paramilitary and security agencies from one section of the country. The indifference of the government to the nefarious activities of the terrorist herdsmen is a slap on our civility and senses.
In one breath, the President will say that the terrorists are our brothers and should be accommodated. The next moment he says that they are from Mali, then trainees from Libya. Yet neither the Immigration boss nor custom boss has been sacked”, he said.
He pointed out that opposition voices were being pursued left, right and centre while some were in different confinements recalling that in the past few days, houses of Ohaneze Chiefs have been bombed, latest being Dr. Idika Kalu’s house.
“All these are meant to intimidate and destroy the opposite views. This government should know that such measures will only push people to self-help, the result of which will not be savoury to any side. The government should engage in conducts that promote justice, equity, unity and peace, not the opposite. There is still light”, he counseled.
