We have no plans to leave ANLCA – Oyeniyi

Contrary to a newspaper report that the Western Zone of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) may be considering leaving the association to form a new association to be known as the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Brokers (ANLCB), a member of the ANLCA Board of Trustees and member of the faction, Prince Taiye Oyeniyi has dismissed the report describing it as untrue.

Oyeniyi who made this known in an interview with our correspondent in Lagos recently stated that ANLCA was their baby and that there was no how he could leave the association adding that if he had wanted to answer a President of any association, he would have long left ANLCA.

He informed that he had remained in ANLCA all these years and would remain in the association to fight for his right where there was an infringement on his right as a co-founder of the association.

In his words,” ANLCA is our baby, if I wanted to bear President for over 20 years, I should have left ANLCA. I have remained in ANLCA and I will remain in ANLCA to fight for my right where there is an infringement on my right as a co-founder of ANLCA. People have been saying that nobody owns ANLCA; I will tell you that when we came up with the name ANLCA, four people registered it, their office then was at No.1 Olowogbowo Lagos before we upgraded it under CEMA 1990. It was my tenant in my house, Segun Fagbohun and Associates that did it. So ANLCA has been my baby from time immemorial and there is no how I can leave ANLCA. Other people may do it but record shows that Taiye Oyeniyi will remain inside ANLCA and fight for his right”.

Explaining how the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents came about, he said,” What brought up that name is, we have a WhatSapp platform called ANLCA Executives that has Mukaila, the National Secretary as the Admin, they will remove somebody today and put somebody else tomorrow. As I am talking to you now, I have been removed from the platform and I directed that they should open another WhatSapp platform where everybody can say his own view without any harassment. That is what brought the birth of ANLCA customs brokers, it is only a platform.

“So, nobody was planning to form any association, it is a white lie”.
