The Lagos State Police command has arrested a three man robbery gang who injured one Saheed Oloyo with a matchet and dispossessed him of his Motorcycle at Ipaja area of the state.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Bala Elkana who confirmed the arrest said that at about 8.00am on Saturday, Ipaja Police Station received a distress call that some armed robbers were operating at Victor Street, Ipaja.
Elkana disclosed that a team of Policemen from Ipaja Division was mobilized to the scene and three suspects namely; Adeleke Lateef, 23 years old; Lekan Bashiru 23 years old and Chinedu Uzozie, 21 year were arrested in connection with the case.
He noted that the victim whom the suspects injured with a matchet and dispossessed him of his Motorcycle was rescued and taken to hospital and that he was responding to treatment.
According to him,”One locally made pistol, one matchet, one knife and other weapons were recovered from them. The BAJAJ Motorcycle with registration number KRD-310-QH snatched by the suspects was recovered. Investigation is ongoing, suspects will be charged to Court for conspiracy, armed robbery and attempted murder”.
In a related development, the Police in Lagos have arrested two suspects namely; Obinna Alozie, 21 years old of No. 19 Ogogoro Junction Iyana Iba and Obinna Machu, 27 years old of No. 10 Canal Road, Ajegunle.
The spokesman of the command, DSP Bala Elkana who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday said that the Festac Police Station, last Friday at about 9.40pm, received a call that some hoodlums were sighted at 24 Road, opposite G-Close Festac, subsequently; a team of Policemen was immediately mobilized to the scene leading to the arrest.
He stated that one locally made pistol with ammunition and other dangerous weapons were recovered.
“Investigation is ongoing, suspects will be charged to Court”, he said.
Also, the Lagos State Police command has arrested the 18 year old Abdulasisi Owoyemi in connection with robbery at Luri Filling Station at the Okokomaiko area of the state.
Bala Elkana, the spokesman of the command said in a statement on Sunday that at about 2.21am last Friday, “the Okokomaiko Police Station received a distress call that some hoodlums were operating at Luri Filling Station, Igbo-Okoko, Okokomaiko.
“A team was drafted to the scene. One Abdulasisi Owoyemi ‘M’, 18yrs old of Magbon Town, Badagry was arrested in connection with the case.
One locally made double barrel gun and five stolen phones were recovered from the suspect. Investigation is ongoing; efforts are emplaced to track down other fleeing members of the gang. Suspect will be charged to Court”.
