In attempt to gain first-hand knowledge of his areas of responsibility and interface with relevant stakeholders at the grassroots, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, CP John Abang has commenced official tour to Police divisions and other formations in the state.
The tour which commenced on August 1, 2019 saw the Commissioner visit places like Ihiala Area Command, Oraifite Area Command, Ihiala Division, Okija, Uli and Ozubulu Divisions respectively.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Haruna Mohammed who disclosed this in a statement in Awka on Friday noted that the Commissioner of Police also paid courtesy visits to the Oluoha of Ihiala, HRH Igwe Sir Thomas Obidiegwu and Okeife of Ozubulu, HRH Igwe Nnamdi Fidelis Oruche at their palaces to receive royal blessings from their Royal Highnesses and sought for their support in promoting safety and security in the state.
The CP equally met with key stakeholders and brainstormed extensively on the challenges, pattern and trends of crime in the area and how best to tackle them.
Some of the stakeholders the CP met with included the eminent persons’ forum, the traditional and community leaders, the vigilante groups and religious leaders among others.
Other notable stakeholders included, the Chairman and Chief Executive, Dozzy Droup of Companies, Dr. Sir Daniel Chukwudozie (Akudo), Director of Sea Horse Oil, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, CEO Eagle Destiny Hotel, Ihiala, Chief Fabian Anasonye (Ogbuehi of Uli) and Chief Chukwuemeka Okiro among others.
The CP also unveils his strategic action plan which included intelligence led policing, community partnership, inter-agency collaboration, zero tolerance on corruption and strict adherence to the rule of law in accordance with internationally acceptable best practices.
It would be recalled that the Commissioner of Police equally paid similar visits to all heads of sister security agencies in the state and Vigilante Service in order to synergize with the agencies for the purpose of enhancing inter-agency collaboration.
The Commissioner of Police also visited Rojenny Stadium Oba, in Idemili South LGA of the state and was warmly received by CEO Rojenny Tourist Centre, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka (leader Ogirisigbo) who took him round the Stadium to inspect the facility in preparation for the National Police Games which the Anambra State Government is hosting.
