The Lagos State Police command has arrested a 30 year old man, Chizoba Okeke for alleged armed robbery.
Confirming the arrest, the spokesman of the command, DSP Bala Elkana said that at about 11.30pm on October 3, 2019, Festac Police Station received a distress call from a filling station at 2nd Rainbow, Festac, that an armed robber was sighted along the area.
Elkana informed that the Anti-Robbery Patrol team was promptly drafted to the location leading to the arrest of the suspect who was identified as Chizoba Okeke.
According to him, items recovered from him included: two phones, one sword, house breaking implements, two daggers, a POS machine and ATM card.
“Investigation is ongoing to ascertain where and how he got the military uniform he operates with and to also identify other members of his gang.
“It is not yet established whether he belongs the gang of dismissed soldiers arrested some weeks ago.
“The suspect will be charged to Court as soon as investigation is concluded”, he said.
