Award winning Anambra Digipreneur Hub gets commendation

…Gets dedicated Channel on Youth TV

Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, Honourable Afam Mbanefo has approved the launch of a dedicated Channel on The Youth TV platform which will focus on Technovation, ICT Development and Digital Entrepreneurship space.

Hon. Mbanefo announced this while commending the State’s Digipreneur Hub for winning double at the 2019 edition of Unsung Heroes Awards.

Digipreneur Week, a major event of the Digipreneur Hub won special recognition award at the 2019 Unsung Heroes Awards and Ifunanya Faithmicheal Chinenye, the Hub’s Head of Networking and Exhibitions defeated a host of other nominees to win “Best Use of Social Media for Humanitarian Activities.”

Digipreneur Week which was nominated alongside Social Media Week Lagos is a multi-days point of convergence for the best brains in digital entrepreneurship space covering conference, exhibition, networking and training.

With attendees from all over Nigeria and beyond, Digipreneur Week brings together different stakeholders to brainstorm on new technovations and way forward while exposing the participants to unlimited opportunities in the digital pace, improving their capacity in digital skills and encouraging effective use of the internet.

After 4 editions, the Hub has recorded 5,973 visitors during Digipreneur Week covering conference, exhibition, networking and training; initiated 18 start-ups; shared 5 million naira worth of digital tools Kits; exposed over 100 ventures through exhibition; launched SmartJobs Initiative to create 5,000 jobs; introduced a Virtual Platform for all Digital Skills; and facilitated international business trip/expo for 11 persons including a traditional ruler.

Digipreneur Hub being an initiative rooted in the Digital Entrepreneurship Office, created by Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State in the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, is aimed at providing unique platforms for self-development and value reorientation; digital skills training and networking for digital entrepreneurship solutions.

Led by Engr. Ifeanyi Aniagoh, the team was at the commissioner’s office to officially present the two awards they clinched at the 2019 Unsung Heroes Awards held in Abuja over the weekend.

The Unsung Heroes Awards is a special recognition event being organised by Oma Living Show to identify and recognize individuals, groups and projects in Africa that are doing great and extraordinary things but somehow are not given enough recognition.

With this approval from the commissioner, the DigiTV will go live on The Youth TV platform in no distant time.
