Police parade Pastor over alleged rape of teenager in Anambra

The Anambra State Police command has arrested a 34 year old Pastor, Chukwudi Chukwumezie of Mount Zion Deliverance Ministry, Ugamuma Village, Obosi in Idemili North Local Givernment Area of Anambra State for allegedly defiling a teenager.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the arrest in a statement in Awka on Wednesday recalled that at about 1.40pm on 23 November, 2019, there was a report at Obosi Division by one Onyekachi Idika of Ire village, Obosi, that the suspect allegedly lured and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her fifteen year old daughter at a hotel along Eze Iweka Road Obosi under the false pretence of conducting deliverance prayers for her.

Mohammed stated that following the report, Police detectives took the victim to the hospital for medical examination where penetration and laceration of her hymen was confirmed by the medical doctor.

According to him, “Suspect was arrested and case transferred to the State criminal investigation department for discreet investigation as directed by the Commissioner of Police CP John B.Abang,fdc.

“Consequently, victim also took Police detectives to the hotel where the alleged offence took place after the Pastor gave her the sum of N200 to meet him at the ATM junction before proceeding to the hotel.

“Case under investigation after which suspect would be charged to court for prosecution, please.”
