Hours after the bandits attacked the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in the early hours of today, the Academy Public Relations Officer; Major Bashir Muhd Jajira has said that the NDA community and the cadets are safe in the Academy.

Speaking in a statement in Kaduna on Tuesday, Jajira, however, informed that the security architecture of the Academy was compromised early this morning by unknown gunmen who gained access into the residential area within the Academy in Afaka.

He noted that during the unfortunate incident, the Academy lost two personnel adding that one was abducted.

He went on to disclose that the Academy in collaboration with the 1 Division Nigerian Army and Air Training Command as well as other security agencies in Kaduna state had since commenced pursuit of the unknown gunmen within the general area with a view to tracking them and rescue the abducted personnel.

The NDA spokesman, therefore, assured the general public that “the unknown gunmen would soon be apprehended and the abducted personnel rescued.”
