The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has received accolades from the people of Omor Kingdom in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State, for recently awarding and flagging-off the construction of Amansea-Oba-Ofemili, Umolum-Omor Road which terminated at Omor Town.
The people of Omor town who could not hide their gratitude to the Governor, took turns to profoundly thank him for this giant stride thoughtfully aimed at developing the state further- a feat achieved by the Governor just in his short stint in the office.
Arising from a joint meeting comprising of Omor Supreme Elders Council, Omor Royal Cabinet, Executives of Omor Town Union and Omor stakeholders who conjointly applauded Governor Soludo for his current efforts to make the state the beacon of light, particularly for this project that will further connect Omor town to other communities as well as engender enormous human and capital development.
Speaking to our correspondent after the meeting, the highly revered monarch of Omor town, His Royal Highness, Igwe Oranu Chris Chidume who is also the Chairman of Krisoral Group of Companies, commended the Governor immensely, adding that when the road is completed, there will be unhindered movement of human and farm produce to other part of the state given the fact that Omor and Ayamelum L.G.A are known for agricultural produce.
Igwe Oranu Chidume who did not hide his excitement at the occasion stated that the completion of the road will contribute massively in turning Anambra into a one-city state and an agricultural hub since it will no longer be difficult to access other part of the state; also, the road will ensue the seamless distribution and movement of agro products to every nook and crannies of the state.
In his words read in parts, His Majesty said, “The good people of Omor highly commend the Governor for his outstanding performance in a very short period as the governor of the state. We are particularly happy with the flag-off of the Amansea-Oba-Ofemili Road where work has started in earnest.
“The road when completed, would link other parts of the state. Omor People are particularly very happy with this development that the governor has brought to the people and we want to appreciate and thank him for his efforts, as well reassure him of our unflinching support to his government.”
Also, Honorable Justice Paul Obidigwe, the former Chief Judge of Anambra State, who is also the Leader of Omor Supreme Elder’s Council, applauded the governor for the rapid developmental feats recorded within a short space of time.
Justice Obidigwe in his word said, “The Governor should be commended greatly, since the inception of his administration, Anambra State has begun to wear a new look and the beautiful part of this is that the Governor tours round the state himself to take stock of the places that needs urgent attention for infrastructural development and then swing into action. We had thought his campaign promises were mere words but his actions have proven otherwise and what we see here today has showed that the governor is a man of his words.”
He further quipped that, “During Governor Soludo’s swearing in ceremony, he promised to visit Okpoko and he did so. It is now glaring to everyone that he is a promise keeper. He has started the construction of road and other infrastructure on all the areas that seemed to have been neglected over the years of which one of them is the road from Omor to Umolum and to Amansea as well as the road from Onitsha to Akpaka which has been in deplorable state over the years.”
On his part, the Ide of Omor Kingdom and a member of the Supreme Elders Council, Chief Sir Paul Madumelum, noted that the developmental steps taken so far by the governor is mind blowing stating that Omor people are grateful for his good governance.
Sir Paul Egwuatu, a member of Omor Royal Cabinet also extolled the governor. He pointed out that insecurity in the state has been greatly abated compared to what it was before now, adding that there is relative peace in Anambra at the moment and urge the governor to sustain the momentum until Anambra is rid of all criminal elements.
He concluded that security of life and properties is sacrosanct and the Governor’s stance on security is a good step in a right direction because Anambarians in diaspora can now visit home for celebration during the yuletide season without fear of insecurity.
