… Receives endorsement from Ndigbo, Oodua groups in PTML
In continuation of his quest to emerge victorious in the May 25th, 2023 Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents,ANLCA National Executive Committee, NECOM election, Chief Uba Lawrence Chukwubunna has visited the critical stakeholders of Ndigbo and Oodua in PTML where he formed an alliance with them ahead of the election.
Uba and his entourage were warmly received with pomp and pageantry. It was a reunion for old friends that have been apart because of the crisis in the Association. They were very happy to see him having been a member of Imeobi Ndigbo in PTML for years.
On hand to receive the entourage was the Chairman of Association of Igbo Maritime Practitioners in Nigeria, ASIMPIN in PTML, Mr. Uchechukwu Aniezechukwu.
In his welcome speech, Aniezechukwu eulogized Chief Uba Lawrence who also is the sitting Chairman of ASIMPIN in Ijora Chapter like him. He expressed his confidence in Uba’s ability to deliver and make agents proud if given the opportunity to serve as the National Secretary.
Other stakeholders spoke which includes Mr. Lawrence Bolade, a former National Assistant Secretary of ANLCA and a former Principal Staff Officer, PSO to the National President of ANLCA – Prince Olayiwola Shittu.
Bolade went down memory lane and narrated some of his activities with Chief Uba in ANLCA. He narrated to the hearing of all how himself and Uba went to Seme Boarder Chapter and settled their Executives when they were having problems under Mr. Patrick Ozobialu (Omaja) as the Seme Chapter Chairman. He said that Ubah’s love for ANLCA was not in doubt saying that his vote cannot go to any other person other than Chief Uba because he know that he is experienced and can deliver.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Uba said that he was very happy to be at PTML again noting that his visit to PTML was like home coming having been part and parcel of the activities in the command for years. He solicited for their votes and support to win the election even as he promised not to forget them because no one forgets his home.
He reminded them of how he moved from Ijora to PTML Chapter when Ijora Chapter was closed by Nigeria Customs, and how he was well received and given a place of honour and made a member of Imeobi Ndigbo. He begged them to support him with their licenses which he said he was aware that most of them had at least one.
On his part, the Patron of ASIMPIN PTML chapter, Chief Charles Udealor (Odinanwa) started by first asking all the members around to put it into vote whom they want as the National Secretary of ANLCA in the forth coming NECOM election. He asked the question three times and all answered in the affirmative that it was s Chief Uba Lawrence Chukwubunna. He then ruled and broke the Kolanut with Prayers for Chief Uba’s victory at the poll.
While informing that his group doesn’t go up and down, he added that once they had endorsed any candidate, they work with him and follow him day and night until victory is achieved. He said that they had never failed in any of their projects because they always put God first in all their endeavors.
He promised Uba that all their licenses were for him and promised that no matter the venue of the election, they will be physically present on the day of the election to cast their votes for him.
While leading the gathering to endorse Chief Uba as the candidate of ASIMPIN for the National Secretary of ANLCA in the coming election, Chief Udealor stated that himself being the CSO to the President General of ASIMPIN, Ndigbo worldwide cannot but agree with their principal, HRM Eze Amb. Damian Obianigwe who has among all other contestants, endorsed Chief Uba as Igbo candidate for the position of National Secretary of ANLCA.
Also speaking, the Coordinator of Shipping company and customs in PTML, Mr. Alfa who stood in for the Chairman of Oodua Maritime Practitioners who was unavoidable absent prayed in Yoruba and asked God to protect Chief Uba and grant him victory in the election.
Mr. Alfa who was accompanied to the meeting by the National Public Relations Officer of Oodua Maritime Practitioners, Mr. Yemi Haastrup equally asked God to touch the mind of those that had come out to contest against Uba to step down for him and wait for their own time insisting that “this is Uba time and victory is assured.”
Alfa, who prayed in Yoruba language, asked God to protect Chief Uba and grant him Victory in the Election. He equally asked God to touch the mind of those that have come out to contest against him to step down for him and wait for their own time. That this is Uba time and victory is assured.
