“We are aware of your existence. We are well aware of your exploits in Anambra State beginning from when the association was formed. We know your contribution towards enthroning this government. We equally know what you did in ensuring that former Governor Willie Obiano was re-elected for a second term in office. We are here also asking you to continue with your good work in the state. It will never go unnoticed and unrewarded.

“You promote and defend the APGA brand and all her candidates. We are taking the party to a kindred level. We want to internalize. The party will work with you. We know your capacity and reach. We want to ensure that the party is domesticated beginning from Umunna (Kindred) level. We are handing the party to the people”, Obi-Okoye stated.

Earlier in his speech, the National President of AMFGG, Chief Emmanuel Ogugua paid a glowing tribute to APGA helmsman, describing him as a grassroots mobilizer and an experienced politician, saying that he was more than happy seeing he emerged as the Chairman of APGA in Anambra State.

Chief Ogugua noted that the group was in his office to pay allegiance to the party as well as his leadership, emphasizing that AMFGG depicted and represented anything APGA and would continue to assist the party towards ensuring that Anambra remained an APGA’s state.

“We are for anything APGA. For you to qualify as our member, you must be an active and supportive member of the party. We preach and live APGA. We have active and working members everywhere in Anambra State. We have ward Executives, polling units coordinators as well as Local Government exco. Our members are scattered all over the place”, Chief Ogugua also known as Okadigbo Aguleri concluded.

“He mooted the idea to the former Governor Obiano. I was the SSA Political then. I was privy to that information. Chief Obiano bought into the idea immediately and asked him to go and prepare a working plan. He rallied us Immediately after that meeting with His Excellency. Today, you can see the effects of that advice he gave to the governor. We know your antecedents. Your capacity is never in doubt. We are lucky to have you as our Chairman”, he said.

For his part, Hon Akpua spoke extensively about Anambra Mandate For Good Governance, AMFGG, describing the group as well organized and coordinated, emphasizing that the association gave him 30th votes in Njikoka State Constituency at the last election, saying that they were out to support and promote APGA as a party as well as Governor Chukwuma Soludo led administration.

“We are made up of men and women of class. We are not hungry. We give money to support any APGA candidate in every election. We use our money to work for the party. We are not the type of support group that fizzles out after each time. We have been around. We have the resources, contacts and reach. We are everywhere in Anambra. This is the platform that gave me victory. They worked day and night to ensure that I emerged as the lawmaker representing Umuowelle. I am grateful”, Hon. Akpua stated.
