…Promises to lead ANLCA into future driven by greater commitment to duty
As the forthcoming chapter elections of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA gathers moment, a Chairmanship hopeful for Abuja Airport chapter, Mr. Solademi Abdulmajid has flagged off his campaign and presented his manifesto to the members of the association in Abuja.
The flag off event which has the representative of the Customs Area Controller, FCT Command, the Military Airport Commandant, the Head of Aviation Security, the Head of the Department of State Services, the Divisional Police Officer and Heads of other government agencies at the airport in attendance, was witnessed by the National President of ANLCA, Mr. Emenike Nwokeoji who was represented at the event by Mrs. Ifeoma popularly known as Mama Igwe.
Speaking during the event, the incoming Chairman, Abuja Airport chapter, Mr. Solademi Abdulmajid who offered himself to serve the chapter as the Chairman, promised to lead them into the future of ANLCA that would be driven by commitment to duty, fear of God, illuminated by common purpose, united by belief and assured prosperous future for all.
Abdulmajid promised to run an open administration based on a foundation of integrity, resilience, inclusive governance and unwavering passion and support for membership growth through innovation and embracing emerging technologies as an enabler to strengthen practitioners at the chapter for the benefit of all.
Unfolding his vision for the association, the chairmanship hopeful said, “My vision is to foster an environment where every voice is heard, every idea valued and every individual is empowered to contribute to our collective success.”
He disclosed that he was on a mission to enhance members’ benefits, form strategic partnership, enthrone effective governance, entrench innovation initiatives, facilitate leadership development and members engagement, institute mentorship programme and ensure efficient resource management and accountability for every kobo received as well as regularly update and organize open forum for all members.
Continuing, he said, “I am not desperate to be the ANLCA Chairman, but I am desperate to see the system working again effectively, for the growth of the association and ensuring transparency, and accountability.
“I will invest in our people, our processes and our technology, to secure and drive our businesses effectively. I will also create more opportunities for youth and members to participate in decision-making processes, receive training and mentorship programs.
“I will lead with integrity, to revive our policy welfare of our members in ANLCA Abuja Chapter, setting benchmarks, and meeting them as our core values.
“As your Chairman, I pledge to work tirelessly, with the Nigerian Customs Service, other government agencies and every stakeholder at the cargo warehouse, to ensure smooth and seamless business operations at the Abuja Chapter.”
Expressing his believe in dialogue to enhance the association’s organizational ability and responsiveness to foster a culture of collaboration, empathy, respect, embed sustainability and social responsibilities to drive the association forward, he added, “My desire is to transform and elevate our dear association to an enviable height.
“Let us embark on this journey of Emancipation 2025, work hand in hand, as we strive to create a brighter future for the next generations and our communities. Together, We Will Achieve Excellence.”
Also speaking, a former Chairman of the chapter, Abdulsalam Abdulraheem described Abdulmajid as eminently qualified for the chairmanship position both in academics and human relations.
His words, “For the Chairman of a chapter, his license must not be less than five years old. This (Abdulmajid) is somebody that his license is more than ten years, so, he is eminently qualified. A Master’s Degree holder, in terms of academics, he is qualified, in terms of human relations, he is over qualified.
“So, I have the privilege and honour to introduce to you, by the special grace of God, the next Chairman of ANLCA, Abuja Airport chapter.”
