The Nigerian Shippers’ Council will on Thursday 6th December, 2018 hold this year’s stakeholders’ appreciation night which has turn out to be an annual ritual.
A statement from the Council stated that the event which kicks off at 5pm on the said date at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island is expected to be chaired by Engr. Mansur Ahmed, President, Manufacturers’ Association of Nigeria (MAN).
According to the statement, the annual event was aimed at reviewing activities during the year and initiate actions needed to move the industry forward in the coming year.
It added that stakeholders that distinguished themselves in their daily operations within the year would be recognized and applauded to encourage them to do more in moving the sector forward.
“The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Gida Mustapha is expected to be Special Guest of Honour, while the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi would be the Host.
“The one-day programme would have in attendance various stakeholders at the ports, including trade groups, shipping companies, seaports/off dock terminal operators, freight forwarders, shippers, cargo consolidators, Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers, Economic Summit Group, among others.
“Other dignitaries expected to grace the occasion are Governors of Edo, Jigawa, Kebbi, Plateau and Oyo States as well as Ministers of Finance, Information and Culture, Trade and Investment, among others”, the statement said.
