The Lagos Police command has arrested a 35 year old man; Friday Okeke of No. 23 Kose Street, Lagos Island for defiling two under aged boys (names withheld) aged 12 and 9 years respectively.
Confirming the arrest, Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Bala Elkana said that Ebute-Ero Police Station had on 27th July at about 11.30 am, received a complaint from two different parents (names withheld) against the suspect alleging that he lured their two male children (names withheld), ages 12 and 9 into his Shop at Kose Street and had unlawful carnal knowledge of them through their anus.
Elkana disclosed that the victims were taken to General Hospital for medical treatment and forensic examination.
He added that the suspect was arrested by a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer, Ebute-Ero, CSP Sina Olunlade noting that investigation into incident was ongoing and that the suspect would be charged to Court.
Meanwhile, the operatives of Operation Crush of the Lagos State Police command have arrested twenty-six (26) suspected cultists in Bariga and Oworonsoki areas of the state.
The spokesman of the command, DSP Bala Elkana who disclosed this in a statement in Lagos on Sunday noted that following the violent clash between members of two rival cult groups in the areas on 21st July, 2019, the Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Zubairu Muazu ordered the immediate deployment of operatives of Operation Crush to the two communities with the mandate of identifying, isolating and apprehending the leaders and members of the gangsters and cult groups disturbing the peace of the area.
“Acting on credible Intelligence, twenty six suspects were arrested within 5 days and various assorted weapons were recovered from them. The suspects will all be charged to Court to face the full weight of the law. The onslaught is ongoing until they are totally defeated.”
He further said,” On 24/07/2019, at about 11.15am, Satellite Police Station received an information from a credible source, that a bag containing a suspicious item was smuggled into a motor park for onward transfer to Onitsha, Anambra state by unknown persons.
“Based on the information, the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Chike Oti deployed his surveillance team to the motor park at Maza Maza to recover the bag. Upon searching the bag, 50 rounds of .38mm live ammunition hidden inside a garri dust was recovered.
“A female who claimed that the bag was given to her by a man in Ojo area to deliver to someone at Onisha was arrested and she is helping the Police with useful information. The case is transferred to SARS for further investigation. Investigation is ongoing.”
