The Seme Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has said that it generated a total of N6, 233,863,657.56 as revenue from January to August 2015.

According to a release by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Taupyen Selechang, the revenue generated was N376, 907.086.51 higher than the N5, 846,956.571.05 generated over the same period in 2014.

Selechang further said that the command also made 461 seizures with a duty paid value (DPV) of N170, 984,589.00 for the period under review adding that despite the uncertainty towards the general election with a corresponding drop in trading activities in the second quarter of the year, the command was still able to collect over N6 billion for the first 8 month.

Seme Command of the NCS is known for its gallant and relentless effort in combating smuggling activities and facilitation of legitimate trade across the frontier.

The command Public Relations Officer Selechang said the quest by the command to surpass the revenue target for the year cannot be compromised.
