No fewer than sixteen persons have been arrested by the operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps( LAGESC) for indiscriminate dumping of refuse in unauthorized places in the Lagos metropolis. In its renewed efforts at sanitizing the Lagos environment, the operatives of the corps embarked on night operations across the state leading to the arrest of the culprits. The Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). Dr. Dakuku Peterside has expressed the agency’s dissatisfaction with the judgment of the Federal High Court by Justice M. B. Idris, delivered today in the case between NIMASA and the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas, (NLNG). Consequently, Dr. Dakuku has stated the Management’s intention to appeal the judgment. The Seme Area command of the Nigeria Customs Service in its relentless fight against smuggling activities has uncovered the desperate antics deployed by smugglers in order to beat customs operatives. The strategy used by smugglers was unraveled by mobile patrol teams led by CSC Ali, A.M and SC Mwada, I.G along the Lagos-Badagry express way.
