The Federal Ministry of Transport has commenced a review of employments, placements and promotions embarked upon by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) since 2010. The committee, which is headed by the Ministry’s Director of Human Resources, Mr. Lawal Ibrahim, is expected to determine whether employments, placement and promotions in NIMASA from 2010 to date conformed to the Civil Service procedures and were also in line with the Federal Character Principle. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said it had lifted embargo placed on 113 vessels from lifting crude and gas in any of its terminals within Nigerian territorial waters. This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Ohi Alegbe, Group General Manager, Public Affairs of the NNPC, on Thursday, in Lagos State.
