Man arrested for sexually abusing his step daughter for five years

…As man, 68, arrested for raping his 15 years old daughter, her friends

The Lagos State Police command has arrested one Akin Olatilu for sexually abusing his step daughter for five years.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Bala Elkana who disclosed this to newsmen in a statement in Lagos said that the 19 year old survivor (name withheld) alleged that the suspect who happened to be her step father had been sexually abusing her since when she was 14 years.

According to Elkana, the victim alleged further that she reported the matter to her mother who did not take any action.

“She further stated that the abuse did not stop until she turned 18 years old. That the suspect also had sexual intercourse with her in the month of March 2019. She added that when she turned down the request of the suspect in the month of June, he lied against her to her mother and she was beaten up by her mother which made her to speak out.

“The suspect is charged to court”, he said.

In a related development, a 68 year old man, Yisah Showunmi has been arrested by the operatives of the command for child defilement.

According to a statement by the spokesman of the command, Bala Elkana, 15 years old victim (name withheld) reported a case of defilement at Imota Police Station against her father at about 2pm on the 27th of June, 2019.

The statement added that the survivor alleged  that her father had been having sexual intercourse with her for the past three years adding that when her two friends (names withheld) ages 15 and 16 came  to stay  in their house, her father also had sexual intercourse with them.

“She added that the last incident happened on 23rd of June, 2019. The suspect however confessed to the crime. He is charged to court”, the statement further said.
