Two persons, a driver and a conductor cheated death yesterday in Apapa as they were rescued from a tipper which fall down while tipping sand at a site said to belonged to the Flour Mills Nigeria Plc.

The tipper which belonged to Lafarge lost bearing and fall while tipping sand on a heap of sand.

The conductor of the vehicle hurriedly climbed out of the fallen tipper and was seen kneeling in prayer and appreciation to God for bringing him out of the incident while the driver of the tipper who initially lost consciousness as a result of the incident was trapped in the tipper.

However, it took the intervention of workers at the Flour Mill to rescue the man who regained consciousness after a while but was unable to climb out of the vehicle just like his conductor did forcing the rescue team to break the rear glass of the vehicle in order to drag him out of the vehicle.

The incident drew a large crowd to the scene who even though were not allowed entry into the site, were seen expressing divergent views over the incident with many of the blaming the incident on the Management of Flour Mills Plc.

Meanwhile, an Ambulance was brought in minutes later to take the victims away for medical care. As at the time of filing this report, the condition of the victims were not known but this reporter believed that they might not be admitted into the hospital as their conditions had normalized even before the arrival of the Ambulance.
