In its bid to encourage the female members to vie for elective position in the forthcoming election of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), the NAGAFF Electoral Commission (NECOM) has announced a 50 percent waiver for nomination forms for all the female members of the association contesting any elective position in the various chapters of the association.

This was contained in a Press release signed by the NECOM Chairman, Mr. Okey Nereus and mailed to Primetime Reporters.

Nereus in the observed that the gesture was in line with the association’s avowed posture of gender friendly association as well as to encourage the women to take their rightful place in the administration of the association.

The release read,” in compliance with the NAGAFF policy of encouraging our females, the NAGAFF
Electoral Commission (NECOM) wishes to announce a 50% waiver for all
female aspirants. Consequently, all female aspirants for all executive positions in all the
chapters are to pick contestant forms at a reduced cost of 50%”.

“This is to reinforce NAGAFF’s principle of being gender friendly and to
encourage our women folk to take their rightful position in the
administration of our great association”.

He however expressed the hope that the women folk would take full advantage of this window of
opportunity provided for them by the association to contribute their quota at the
highest level of decision-making.
