NIMASA Director receives MPA Academy Fellowship Award

The Head of Shipping Development Department in the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Mr. Akin Akinyosoye has been awarded the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) Academy Fellowship Award.

The award was in consideration of Mr. Akinyosoye’s participation at the 3rd Port Management Programme (PMP) held in Singapore with other participants drawn from various parts of the world.

The PMP is an executive programme covering a wide range of topics including master planning for new ports, maximising efficiencies in container/cargo terminal operations and vessel traffic management using state of the art equipment amongst others.

An astute administrator and consummate professional, Mr. Akinyosoye has had over 25 years cognate experience in the maritime sector.

He has at various times served the agency as Head, Cabotage Services Department; Head, Planning Research and Data Management Services department and Coordinator of the Central Zonal Office in Warri.

He holds a B.Sc. (Hons)  degree in Economics with a Masters in Business Administration and has attended several Management and professional courses within and outside the country.

Mr. Akinyosoye belongs to several professional associations including Member Chartered Institute of Logistic and Transport, Fellow Institute of Chartered Economics of Nigeria amongst others.
