The Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu has called on the Management of the Airtel Nigeria to simplify the process of connecting to its 4G network just as it is rolling out specific offers that will delight all telecoms consumers regardless of their income level and social status in Nigeria.

Shittu who made this call at the launch of Airtel 4G in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja yesterday also charged Airtel Nigeria to go the extra-mile to ensure that its company delivered 4G experiences to every door step in Abuja in particular and Nigeria as a whole in a broader spectrum urging it to sustain the giant strides in the sector.

While pointing out that 4G came with a lot of opportunities as “it allows for improved browsing and online experience; better performance of Multimedia apps; Enhanced Voice and HD Video Calls and compatible with existing telecoms infrastructure”, he noted that without a doubt, 4G would improve productivity and help drive economic opportunities in across the Abuja metropolis.

According to him,” The Federal Government is happy to celebrate with Airtel on this milestone and on other efforts aimed at achieving robust and extensive network coverage in Nigeria. I want to encourage you all to use what has been given to us today to empower ourselves and patronize Airtel Nigeria.

“I am very happy with this development because it aligns with the Federal Government’s plan of empowering Nigerians and democratizing mobile broadband by making it affordable to all. Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, let me urge you all to continue to patronize and pray for the success of this Telecom and ICT sector and for sustainable peace in the country.

“You should also always avail yourselves of the multiple opportunities offered by networks and service providers in Nigeria, all of whom are willing and ready, in line with international best practices, to attend to such. Where this process fails, let me remind you all, as well, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has provided opportunities for reporting unresolved complaints.

“Ladies and gentlemen, let me once again express my appreciation for the overwhelming show of support and affection which I receive from you. I heartily congratulate Airtel Nigeria on this feat. With these few words, I now have the pleasure to declare the launch of 4G in Abuja officially open to the Glory of Almighty God and to the benefit of Mankind and to wish everyone a wonderful customer experience.

“While I felicitate with Airtel for this milestone, I urge the telco not to relent in its quest of rolling out affordable mobile Internet service across the country”.
