The Police patrol team attached to the Ojoto Division of the Anambra State Police command at about 10am on Thursday, following a tip off, discovered a lifeless body of a middle aged man whose identity is yet unknown floating on the river bank with his hands tied behind his back and bruises all over his head.

The Police public Relations Officer of the command, SP Haruna Mohammed who disclosed this in a statement in Awka stated that the corpse was brought out of the river, photographed and deposited at St. Michael’s hospital mortuary, Umuoji for autopsy.

Mohammed added that the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, CP John Abang has ordered for a full scale investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident with the aim to bring perpetrators to justice.

He said, “The command implores the public whose relation got missing and matched above description to report at Ojoto Division for possible identification of the corpse, please.“
